I am a father of five: two young women, Makyla and Alexa, 26 and 19 years old respectively; our four-year-old pre-schooler Noah-David; our almost two-year-old toddler, Nellie-Rose; and, our just about to join us in mid-November, Lila-Jeanne. In a matter of a few weeks my wife Mélanie and I will be trying to keep up with three children under five. I’m sure that we have a thing or two to learn….
This blog is the continuation of Ta Daa – 180 of Magic which I wrote in the May – November 2008 window while on parental leave with Nellie-Rose. I just kept writing when I rejoined the workforce. I do commute to work and I love being a father and writing about it.
I am also the author/editor of PlayGround Chronicles, a blog that documents playgrounds in the Greater Halifax area.
On weekdays I’m ensconced in a Halifax high rise where I ply my trade as a public affairs professional with the federal government.
I’m always interested in hearing from other fathers and playground afcionados.

Hello! It’s Ian’s mom! I found your site today from a link from HRM Parent and think it’s just awesome. What a great Dad you are! I really enjoyed reading of your many adventures as a family. You will soon be super busy as a parent of three kiddies four and under (from experience
and it’s so much fun. Ian was so very excited that he got to visit his best friend’s Noah house and asks everyday if he can go again soon!
Felecia
P.S. Thanks so much for the wonderful tea again!
Thanks Felecia – glad you liked it. Which one did you visit CommuterDad, or PlayGround Chronicles?
Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. Been busy as you know with that new baby thing.
